Thanksgiving in Bend

We spent the week of Thanksgiving in Bend...exploring trails, mountains and sipping on some of the world's best lattes (from Thump). Andy's parents made the trip out for a few days, and while they cuddled with their Grandson, Andy and I were able to sneak away for some fun adventures.

The dogs thanked us endlessly for their epic adventure along the Deschuttes River. Blue ran at least 1000 miles up and down the trail and attempted to swim in the icy waters. Max was content smelling all of the goods Eastern Oregon had to offer.

Another hike along the Deschuttes with the little bundle...Harrison is perfectly content in his awesome snowsuit.

The dogs crashed out in perfect harmony on the floor of our retro rental house.

The First Month with Harrison

The first month was spent relishing in and adjusting to our new role as parents. It was fascinating just observing Harrison take in his new world.

Here are some of our favorite photos from our first month together.

First Week Favorites

The first week at home with our family was rather surreal - spending each moment marveling over our incredible gift. Andy was a champion at taking care of Mom, Baby and everything else in between.

Here are some photos of us basking in the glorious sun drenched days following Harrison's birth...

Look how long I am!

Our friend Kacie (In The Moment Photography) visited during the first week together and took some beautiful shots of our little guy...

Introducing Harrison Jack Kunkler

Into a sea of pure bliss and absolute exhaustion, Harrison Jack Kunkler was born on Friday, October 2 at 7:06 PM...8 pounds, 4 ounces, 21 1/2 inches long.

After what felt like days of pushing, our little boy didn't want to come out and thus was delivered via cesarean. Although we had hoped for a natural birth, words cannot express the gratitude we felt to have our healthy and beautiful boy grace us with his presence.

We couldn't have done it without all of your kind words, warm thoughts and loving support throughout these past months. A special thanks are in order to the amazing women who rushed to the hospital at the beginning of our labor adventure and sent their love from the waiting room...hour after hour after hour of the lengthy process.

The Nursery...Waiting for Baby K

The Nursery: My favorite room in the house with it's great light & energy. Creating this space was a wonderful welcoming ritual for me and thanks to inspiration from Andy, much of the furniture was found via Craigslist :)
