My first Mother's day
Waking up to this sweet face on Sunday morning, I was reminded of how lucky I am to be a mother. When I look into these big hazel eyes, I see a pool of possibilities that makes my whole being smile. As the days have turned into months (over 7 now), I am so grateful for how much this little boy has taught me.
Andy, Harrison and I spent Mother's day weekend in Bend where we stayed in an adorable one bedroom bungalow. Complete with a wood stove, great views, and one tiny bedroom (the size of a closet), we soaked in our time together and with all great getaways, gained a perspective on what one really needs in life: a roof over our heads, a warm bed, and most importantly love.
(And I realize at this point, this is sounding like a country/reggae inspired song).
My most amazing husband arranged for the following adventures while we were in town...
Weekend activities: several trips to my favorite coffee house (Thump)
pedicure for Mom (Harrison's idea)
delicious take-out from Staccato
walks through town
poaching the neighbors' hot tub
watching Andy compete in the Chain Breaker bike race - he was incredible!
mother's day dinner with good friends (and their adorable bambinis)
Harrison, ready to head out to Dad's bike race
